Exposed-Aggregate Surfaces

Want to add more texture and safety to your driveway, patios, and walkways? We can use exposed-aggregate surfacing techniques to help your concrete obtain a surface that is rugged, skid resistant, and more durable and resistant to heavy traffic, tire marks, and weather extremes. An exposed-aggregate surface is obtained by removing the outer cement paste (the smoothing finish) from fresh poured concrete with the intent to uncover the decorative coarse aggregate underneath. Because of its durability and skid resistance, an exposed-aggregate finish is ideal for use in sidewalks, driveways, patios, pool decks, and plazas. Its finishes are not limited in use to just walking and driving surfaces; they can also be used to add texture, depth, and aesthetic interest to retaining walls and other vertical surfaces.

Our designer can help you choose from the many types and sizes of decorative aggregate which are available to achieve a full array of color and texture variations. You can use exposed-aggregate surfaced concrete either alone or in beautiful contrast with plain concrete or other decorative treated concrete such as stamped, stenciled, stained, or integral colored.
